Germ Free Workouts

Today I went to the doctors.  I waited an hour and fifteen minutes in the waiting room and then another 10 minutes in the room before the doctor saw me.  Once she entered she checked my blood pressure, my heart rate, my O2 levels, and made me take many deep breaths followed by listening to my heart.  She asked me one question, “Do you believe you are healthy enough to do physical activity?”  The answer was yes and just like that she signed off my work physical.  I got out just in time to quickly pay the 75 dollar fee for performing a work physical and make it to the girls school for pick up with 5 minutes to spare!  I can’t believe that 75 dollars and an hour and half later all that we learned was that I have a pulse and my lungs have air.

I have been going through a process of looking for a new job.  I am not ready to talk about the potential opportunity on here yet, but just know that this girl needs activity, action, and the ability to move around at her job!  Sitting down 9 to 5 watching my ass form a permanent spot in a chair and coffee rings fill a desk is not something that I can do! So I have been getting back into shape!

I know that I started a healthier eating lifestyle with more activity a few months back with high hopes of weight loss and muscle toning, but a lot of that went out the window with the move.  Once we started packing I stopped working out and as the food emptied the freezer and pantry my diet went with it.  I am proud to say that I have managed to maintain the same weight for the 2 months that I abandoned my fresh, healthier lifestyle, but I have have weakened my body.  As I am typing with my arms extended to reach the keyboard I feel the soreness radiate through my upper body from my work out.  It is a good feeling.  Just hopefully I can quickly get back to the level I was at and increase it drastically before this job wants to test my performance.

The other problem with getting back into shape is that everyone keeps getting sick in my house.  We share around here and I am a ticking time bomb ready to explode with some mucus draining, coughing, sneezing, and overall death.  I have been dodging hard, but I fear my luck is running out.  I am the only one to remain virus/bacterial infection free.  That is 4 vs. 1.  I do not like these odds.  Although, the really neat thing about a school in a small town is that the teachers and nurses give you a heads up with what is being passed around class and on the school yard.
